Bay Islands
The Bay Islands are formed by the islands of Roatan, Guanaja
& Utila, Roatan is the biggest one in population and territory,
in the past it was known as Coxen Hole. The Bay Islands are
also formed by 65 small cayes and there population is of 21.553
inhabitants.
The Bay Islands are located 40 miles of the Atlantic littoral,
assented over an impressive coral barrier considered the second
largest one in the world.
The reefs are located near the beaches which makes them reachable
within in a swimming distance. The weather in the Bay Islands
is a tropic weather mixed with a maritime breeze, which makes
a perfect temperature.
At the Bay Islands a turistic infrastructure has been developed
in order for tourists to enjoy the great beauty these islands
have to offer. Different tours have been developed in order
for people to visit other important sites in the region, such
as the Port Royal Park known because of its wild species,
the Roatan Institute of Marine Science, and the project for
the conservation of the marine turtles & tortoises. These

this paradisiacal corner of Honduras.
